Grealish 'unbelievably happy' as date of move from Villa to Man City is set - pundit
Aston Villa superstar Jack Grealish will be “unbelievably happy” that a move to Man City is creeping ever closer.
That is according to ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the latest in the Grealish saga.
This site revealed yesterday (28th July) that the 25-year-old is edging closer to a move to the Etihad and a deal is expected to be complete ‘next week’.
That comes after Football Insider first broke news on 23rd July that the Villa skipper had agreed a ‘huge’ contract with the league champions.
City are willing to pay £90million including add-ons for the playmaker whose Villa deal expires in 2025.
Kenny insisted that Grealish will be elated at the news that City are making genuine progress in their bid to wrestle him away from Villa.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “He isn’t going to push for a move and that reflects well on him.
“I hope Aston Villa keep hold of him and I’m sure they will definitely want to.
“But if the money’s right and all parties are happy then sometimes you’ve got to know when to let it go.
“I’m sure Grealish will be happy to stay at Villa because it’s his boyhood club.
“But if it looks liken he’s going to get that move then he’s going to be unbelievably happy.
“He has a lot more chance of pushing for trophies at Man City than at Aston Villa.”
