Rangers midfielder Declan John has picked up a new army of fans after impressing for Wales in two games in the China Cup.
The 22-year-old left-back won two more caps for his country after being recalled by Ryan Giggs after five years in the international wilderness.
And BBC Wales pundit Owain Llyr was one of the people who was delighted with what he saw.
He took to Twitter after the 1-0 defeat to Uruguay in the final of the China Cup on Monday to say, “Declan John has improved as a player since moving to Rangers.”
🏴Aaron Ramsey’s creativity in midfield was badly missed. You realise how important he is to #Wales when he doesn’t play

John played the full 90 minutes when Wales demolished China 6-0 last week. And he put in another solid 59 minutes on Monday as his side went down to a narrow defeat courtesy of an Edinson Cavani goal.
John spent the first half of the season on loan from Cardiff before making his Ibrox move permanent in January.
Football Insider verdict:
This sort of praise is fantastic for Rangers and for Graeme Murty. Young players will see what’s happened to Declan John and think that they can boost their careers by playing for a huge club that’s suffered some hard times over the past few years. John deserves the accolades and he’ll be thrilled to be back in the frame for a place in the new Ryan Giggs incarnation of Wales.
