Betting latest: Leeds installed second faves to sign international forward, approach reportedly made

Leeds United have been installed second-favourites to sign Derby forward Chris Martin in the January transfer window, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
BetVictor have opened the market on Martin, 29, to leave Pride Park this month and have placed Leeds in a commanding position to sign up the Scotland international, pricing them at 4/1.
Reading (3/1) are favourites to sign the Derby forward, while Leeds are joined as second-favourites by Cardiff and Norwich.

Sunderland (5/1) and Sheffield Wednesday (8/1) are also in the running to sign the Scot, but are seen as outsiders in the race for his signature.
Freelance reporter Joe Rawson claimed on his personal Twitter account on Monday that Leeds had approached Derby with an enquiry about Martin, but his wages at Pride Park may prove to be problematic for Thomas Christiansen to sign the powerful centre-forward.
The Telegraph has reported that the Rams are willing to offload the ex-Norwich striker this month in order to fund their move for Cameron Jerome.
It was understood that Leeds, Reading and Fulham were all keeping close tabs on his situation.
Martin has only scored one goal for Derby in all competitions this season and has recently been axed from the starting line-up by Gary Rowett, with the target man not starting once in the Championship in over a month.
In other Leeds United news, there has been a major development in the Whites’ hunt for this high-flying striker after Andrea Radrizzani’s stance was made clear.
