Bridcutt delivers verdict after Leeds win v Derby, this got us over the line
By Emma Sanders
Liam Bridcutt believes the Elland Road faithful played a huge part in his side’s win against Derby, claiming they “have taken us over the line” in the last three months.
The Leeds skipper was full of gratitude for the supporters, who made a huge amount of noise during the 1-0 victory against Derby on Friday evening.
Bridcutt also praised the impact of Monk and claims since the manager took over, the Leeds players have grown in confidence and they are now starting to “believe” they can do well in the Championship this season.
It was Leeds’ sixth victory in seven games in all competitions and they sit comfortably in 3rd position in the league table following another impressive win.
“We all knew before the game this was going to be one of the toughest matches. We put in the hard work and produced a great performance and deserved the win,” Bridcutt told Sky Sports after the match.

“The atmosphere has been brilliant. In the last three months the fans have taken us over the line and we were unlucky not to get a few more goals to send them home happier.”
“The manager has come in and given the boys the confidence they need. We are starting to believe now.”
Pablo Hernandez was the Leeds star player yet again and he picked up the Man of the Match award for another dazzling display in front of the home supporters.
Hernandez created a number of chances for his side and looked a class above the rest as he helped Leeds climb higher up the league table.
Chris Wood scored his 14th league goal of the season after he netted from a set-piece in the first half to capitalise on a dominating performance from Leeds.
Monk’s side were unable to add to their lead but ran out as comfortable winners.
