Rangers fans have taken to social media to rave about youngster Ross McCrorie for his performance against Celtic on Saturday.
Pedro Caixinha’s side hosted their bitter Glasgow rivals at Ibrox in their first Old Firm clash of the season and suffered a 2-0 defeat to the unbeaten Hoops.
Brendan Rodgers brought his first-choice backline to Ibrox, while the Gers were missing two key defenders from their line-up as skipper Lee Wallace and summer signing Bruno Alves were both out with injury while their back-ups Declan John and Danny Wilson were sidelined too.
Their absences meant that Under-20 centre-back McCrorie was called up to make his first start for the senior squad and Ranger fans were incredibly impressed with his performance with many supporters believing that the 19-year-old is the club’s future.

If Ross McCrorie’s performance doesn’t convince fans that we should build from within …

I'm struggling to work out who out of Alves and Cardoso is worst. McCrorie definitely deserves his chance.

Ross McCrorie is our future. What a performance. Even when Sinclair was flagged off he still won the ball!

McCrorie came on towards the end of the second-half during Rangers’ Scottish League Cup quarter final clash against Partick Thistle earlier in the week and looked to impress boss Caixinha.
With a number of injuries to the Light Blues’ backline, the academy star could be making a number of appearances over the next few weeks.
Caixinha’s side will next travel to the SuperSeal stadium on Friday to face Hamilton in the Premiership.
