'Brilliant news', 'Superb', 'Yaasss' – Rangers fans react as club confirms new deal

Rangers fans have reacted with delight to the news that James Tavernier has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
News that he was going to to sign a new contract was broken by the EstConsultancy Twitter account, a very reliable source of Rangers news, on Tuesday.

A big hint that the deal was imminent was posted on the StormSportsX twitter account on Wednesday before official confirmation came through from the Rangers Twitter account.

They confirmed that he had signed a three-and-a-half year deal that keeps Tavernier at the club until 2021.

Tavernier has been a key player for Graeme Murty this season and getting him to commit to a new long-term is a massive boost for the club and fans.
The defender joined in the summer of 2015 from Wigan and has since made 126 appearances for Rangers, scoring 23 goals.
He captained the side for the first time in the 6-1 win in the Scottish Cup at the weekend and now he gets to celebrate with a new, improved deal.
Rangers fans were delighted by the news and took to Twitter once the news had been announced.
