'Hell of a head spinner' - Exclusive: Bruce reacts as agreed exit deal leaves Celtic fuming

Alex Bruce insists it is a worry that Celtic are set to lose another young starlet to Bayern Munich in the shape of Barry Hepburn.

The former Kilmarnock defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, admits the chance to join the German giants would be a “head spinner” for any player.

As revealed by Football Insider this week, the 16-year-old centre-forward is set to join former Hoops youngster Liam Morrison in Munich after a summer move was agreed in principle.

This site has since revealed that Celtic are raging with agent David Moss for paving the way for Hepburn to head to the Bundesliga after facilitating Morrison’s move last summer.

Bruce admits that interest from Bayern is always going to turn heads but admits there is concern how many young talents are being snapped up from Parkhead.

Bruce told Football Insider: “Scotland has always produced good players throughout history, haven’t they? They’ve always produced very, very good young players. The biggest thing is keeping hold of them but it all depends on the person.

“For me, if you’re a young lad and you’ve been brought up round the corner from the ground, why would you want to go anywhere else if you’re a Celtic fan? Different people have different circumstances.

“When one of the big European boys comes knocking, if you’re that good of a player that Bayern Munich come knocking on your door, it’s a hell of a head spinner for anybody!

Hepburn is currently on a youth registration at Celtic after graduating from their ranks.

He has rejected the club’s attempts to tie him to a professional deal.
