Bruno Fernandes reacts to major Victor Lindelof Man United injury update

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes has responded to his teammate Victor Lindelof after an injury update.

The Swedish defender last featured for the Red Devils in a 4-3 loss to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on 19 December 2024.

Lindelof played 45 minutes, before being replaced by Jonny Evans, suffering an injury that has kept the Swedish international side-lined since that astonishing match.

Lindelof was expected to be sold by Man United in January, but that injury caused any potential suitors to refrain from making an offer.

It has been a difficult two seasons for the former Benfica man, as he has been limited due to a plethora of niggling injuries.

Lindelof suffered an injury whilst on international duty with Sweden, which made him the first injury casualty of Ruben Amorim’s reign as United manager.

Bruno Fernandes responds to Victor Lindelof’s ‘back’ message

Following his lengthy layoff, Lindelof posted an image of himself in training on his Instagram with a simple one-word message that reads: “Back.”

Fernandes responded with three ice cube emojis, the post was also liked by teammates Joshua Zirkzee, Christian Eriksen, and former teammate Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Lindelof will likely be eased back into the fold slowly following his injury layoff, his next opportunity to feature for the Red Devils will be on Sunday (16 February), when United face Spurs in the Premier League.

Question marks remain over a number of United players due to the club’s difficult financial situation relating to profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

Kobbie Mainoo may be sold by Man United in order to pull themselves out of the financial hole they have created.

Victor Lindelof return a boost for Ruben Amorim after Lisandro Martinez injury for Man United

Lisandro Martinez is set for a year out injured at Man United having suffered a torn ACL during a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace (2 February).

United have struggled defensively this season, and in Amorim’s three-at-the-back tactical system, United need as many centre-backs as they can get.

Mathijs de Ligt and Lenny Yoro have struggled since joining the Red Devils, and Lindelof’s experience and calmness on the ball will be a bonus for Amorim.
