11. Barrie McKay

Barrie McKay was the poster boy for Rangers’ youth development and as such fans had high hopes for the young winger.

Five years after breaking into the Rangers first team, McKay got into a contract dispute with the club who ended up cashing in before he could leave on a Bosman.

Former boss Mark Warburton agreed a cut-price deal for the Scottish international and took him to Nottingham Forest while Rangers fans were left bemoaning the fee they got in return.

A fantastic player on his day but his day is far and few between.

However, Caixinha made a mistake letting him go so cheaply – £770k is a steal.
