Callum Wilson set for multiple offers after Newcastle exit news – sources
Newcastle United are set to receive offers for Callum Wilson in the January transfer window, sources told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that multiple Premier League clubs, including Fulham and Brentford, are weighing up a move for the striker.
Wilson, 32, is out of contract at St James’ Park at the end of the season, with the January transfer window seen as Newcastle’s last chance to cash in on his signature.
The Magpies had been open to letting the striker leave in the summer transfer window, but a new injury blow put off interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.
However, sources say that if he can prove his fitness ahead of the transfer window, there are clubs already considering handing him a long-term deal.
The striker turns 33 in February, and a move in January is viewed as his final opportunity to land a big contract should Newcastle agree to his sale.
Newcastle United ready to cash in on Callum Wilson in January
Wilson has an impressive goalscoring record for Newcastle, finding the net 48 times in 108 games so far, and has established himself as one of the most well-regarded forwards in the league.
However, since his move to St James’ Park in 2020, the striker has missed a combined 91 games for club and country through various injury issues.
Those injuries have raised red flags both at Newcastle and among interested clubs, but they are willing to take a punt should he prove his fitness before January.
Both Fulham and Brentford are assessing their options as they look to bring in a new striker mid-way through the season, with Wilson viewed as an outstanding candidate.
His impressive minutes-to-goal ratio of one in every 109 minutes in the Premier League last season is seen as proof he can still find the net on a regular basis at the top level.
Now, despite his age and injury issues, there are expected to be plenty of suitors for his signature in January, and the Magpies could look to cash in rather than lose him for free in July.

In other news, Sean Longstaff’s stance on quitting Newcastle for free has been revealed.
