Campbell: This is how much Arsenal need to pay Brighton to land White
Arsenal will need to pay Brighton close to £50million to sign Ben White.
That is the view of former Gunners and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 23-year-old’s valuation.
As reported by Sky Sports on 16 June, Arsenal had an opening offer of £40million rejected by the Seagulls.
Football Insider revealed on 22 June that the Gunners are readying a new bid for White.
He has three years remaining on his contract at the Amex Stadium, having put pen to paper on a new deal last September.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the latest, Campbell said:

“Mikel Arteta must have heard that there is an opportunity to get him this summer.
“We are going to lose Gabriel while the Olympics is one and we have already lost David Luiz. Saliba could come back into the fold but it is likely Mavropanos will go, so that will be a loss. I think in terms of numbers, Ben White is needed.
“He has Premier League experience, he is the right age and he is a homegrown player. When you think about it £40million is the going rate.
“I think they might have to go up to £50million but Arsenal will not pay more than that. He will go for around £45-50million I think because other teams are interested.”
White made 39 appearances from Graham Potter’s side in the 2020-21 campaign.
His performances impressed England boss Gareth Southgate, who called the centre-half up to England’s 26-man squad for the Euros after an injury to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
