Campbell thrilled by West Brom bid for Watford star Gray
Kevin Campbell has insisted West Brom are “not messing around” as they line up a move for Watford striker Andre Gray.
The former Baggies hitman Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed his old side desperately needed to add some firepower this summer.
As exclusively revealed by Football Insider on Tuesday (August 10th), West Brom have set sights on signing Gray, 30, before the window shuts this month.
This site has also detailed (August 13th) how goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is set to remain at the club.
The Baggies have moved to secure the signings of Adam Reach, Alex Mowatt and Matt Clarke already.
However, Campbell believes that the Midlands club are still missing a key piece of the puzzle in a striker like Gray.

“I like Andre,” Campbell told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.
“He’s big, powerful, and strong – but he knows where the goal is.
“It would be a good signing for West Brom because you could see in the Bournemouth game last week that they lacked that main guy up top.
“West Brom are not messing around as they need to get back into the Premier League.”
Gray joined newly-promoted Watford in 2017 for a then club-record £18million but has only scored 21 goals in 125 appearances for the Hornets.
However, the Shrewsbury Town academy product is a prolific scorer at Championship level.
He has netted 46 goals in 118 second-tier appearances for Watford, Burnley, and Brentford.
As revealed by Football Insider today (August 13th), Sam Johnstone is set to remain at the club.
