Carlos Miguel makes Nottingham Forest confession after FA Cup howler
Carlos Miguel has sent a message to Nottingham Forest fans for his role in their dramatic FA Cup game against Exeter City on Tuesday (11 February).
The Premier League side were able to progress into the fifth round, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s men were forced to work for that opportunity.
The two sides drew 2-2 with a brace from Josh Magennis almost allowing the League One side to pull off a surprise, but Ramon Sosa and Taiwo Awoniyi’s goals kept Forest in the game.
Miguel was handed a rare start for Forest in this game, but he was slammed for committing an “absolute howler” according to Michael Dawson.
The 26-year-old dropped the ball after trying to catch it, only for it to fall to Magennis for a simple tap in.
Forest were able to overcome the error and will now face Ipswich Town in the fifth round of the competition as their impressive season continues.

Miguel ended up being replaced in the 59th minute of the game due to an injury, with Santo opting to place Matz Sels in goal.
It proved to be a game to forget for the Forest shot-stopper, and he took to Instagram to reflect on his performance.
Miguel said, “There are days when things don’t go as planned, but we always move forward, working, because we know what we went through to be here today. Happy for the ranking!”

Carlos Miguel is still finding his feet
The Brazilian goalkeeper joined Forest during the summer from Corinthians, costing the Premier League side £3.4million.
Miguel signed a contract at the City Ground until 2028, but he has primarily been used in a back-up role so far.
The goalkeeper has only appeared three times for Forest so far in cup competitions, keeping one clean sheet and conceding three goals.
