Chris Sutton admits shock over Rangers January decision

Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has admitted that he was shocked to see Rangers had decided to reject an £8million bid for star striker Alfredo Morelos on deadline day in January.
Sky Sports reported on Wednesday morning that Chinese Super League club Beijing Rehne had a big-money offer turned down by the reluctant Gers for Morelos, 21, after a previous bid of £7million was also knocked back.
It was reported that Morelos was interested in holding talks with the Chinese giants, but as deadline day progressed, it seemed apparent that the centre-forward was going nowhere.
Of course, the transfer window will remain open in China until the end of February so this may not be the end of this particular transfer saga, but with Rangers now unable to buy a replacement, it would see that the bids would have to be mammoth for them to finally accept.
Now, BT Sport pundit Sutton has said on his personal Twitter account that he was shocked to see that Morelos remained at Ibrox after seeing a bid worth £8million going in for him.
“I’m very surprised if Rangers knocked back £8million,” he said.

Morelos has been a hit at Ibrox since he was signed by Pedro Caixinha in the summer for £1million.
The Colombian forward is the top goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership with 11 goals to his name.
In other Rangers news, the Light Blues have been tipped by the bookies to sign this former Celtic forward who is now a free agent.
