Outspoken social media user and Aston Villa chairman and owner Tony Xia has boldly stated that the “Championship isn’t that difficult’ as they build up to another season in the second tier.
The Midlands giants went into their last campaign with similar confidence following their relegation from the Premier League.
However, after spending huge sums of money on the likes of Ross McCormack, Jonathan Kodjia, James Chester and Scott Hogan they were only able to achieve a 13th placed finish under Steve Bruce.
But, ambitious chairman Xia has made clear on his Twitter account what he is expecting from the upcoming season, stating in the early hours of Sunday morning that people make a lot of excuses while in the Championship and it is not actually that hard.
Actually I agree with DYorke said, Championship isn't that difficult as lots ppl described, more as a good excuse. There's no retreat!#UTV

Aston Villa fell into the Championship after a 20th placed finish in the 2015-16 season.
It was the first time that the Villans had not played in England’s top-flight since 1998 and now the prestigious club will be looking to make a quick return to the Premier League.
However, despite Xia’s words many clubs have dropped down to the Championship in the past and struggled to return.
In other Aston Villa news, Ray Wilkins believes this potential Villa signing would sort out the dressing room.
