Opposition manager delivers emphatic warning to high flying Newcastle

Preston manager Simon Grayson has revealed that his side are desperate to exact revenge on league leaders Newcastle.
The former Leeds manager grimaced from the touchline as his side were demolished 6-0 by Newcastle’s unstoppable firepower on Tuesday night.
However, Grayson revealed that he is keen to put their EFL Cup disaster behind them with three points at stake on Saturday.
“Tomorrow is a different game, we are at home and it will be a fantastic atmosphere,” Grayson told the Evening Chronicle. “There will be fire in the belly at 3pm tomorrow and this is one to look forward to.
“When you look back to the last two home games against Aston Villa and Huddersfield, we started well in both. That led us to the victories which we achieved.”

Rafa Benitez’s side were in sensational form in the week, as they booked their place in the quarter finals of the EFL Cup with an away trip to Hull City.
Braces from Aleksander Mitrovic and Mo Diame, as well as goals from Matt Ritchie and Ayoze Perez delivered a more than comfortable victory at St. James’ Park.
However, a trip to Deepdale is likely to present a much harder task to the Newcastle players, as they look to stretch their lead at the top of the Championship to six points.
The Toon will be expected to pick up another three points against Grayson’s side though, after 13 wins in their last 15 league and cup encounters.
