Chris Sutton: Celtic must make move for this creative top-flight attacker in summer
Chris Sutton has said that he would like Celtic ‘to make a play’ for Man City’s attacker Patrick Roberts in the summer.
Sutton was talking on BT Sport’s Facebook Live show ahead of the potentially title-deciding Celtic game against Hibernian on Saturday.
One fan asked whether Celtic should sign Roberts or Odsonne Edouard in the summer and Sutton plumped for Roberts.
“If I have to pick on I’d say Patrick Roberts,” said Sutton.
“He’s had a tough season, with high expectations, and injuries. I ‘d like to see Celtic make a play for him. He’s a creative player.
“Edouard is a work in progress and would cost a lot of money.”

Sutton also went on to say that if Brendan Rodgers did leave Celtic to join Arsenal, that he could see Neil Lennon joining as the next manager at Parkhead.
Football Insider verdict:
Roberts has had a really tough season, missing a huge chunk of the campaign through injury. However, the fans love him and Rodgers would surely love to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer. This season might actually have helped that, with Man City not seeing the progress they might have wanted to consider keeping him on. Roberts seem to love Celtic and it would be a popular move. The question is, how much would City want for him? he might well be priced out of Celtic’s reach.
