Chris Sutton reveals terms of Celtic move for PL attacker after Tuesday claim

By Harvey Byrne

Outspoken pundit and former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has revealed Manchester City attacker Patrick Roberts will be rejoining the club on loan.

The 44-year-old claimed on Tuesday that the Glasgow giants would be completing the signing of the young City winger, stating it is now just a case of “dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.”

However, he didn’t provide any details on whether it would be another loan move, or a permanent return to Brendan Rodgers’ side.

This led to fan asking Sutton via his personal Twitter account about the terms of the deal, to which he confirmed it was another loan.

Roberts has already had an impressive 18-month spell at Celtic after joining on loan from Manchester City in January 2016.

During that period he played 60 times in total for the Hoops, returning 17 goals and 21 assists.

The pacey attacker also helped lift the Scottish Premiership title twice alongside the League Cup and Scottish Cup.

Roberts also became a fan favourite among the famous Parkhead crowd and supporters will be delighted to see him make his return be it a loan or permanent deal.

Celtic are however preparing for a Champions League qualifying match against FC Astana on Wednesday evening and Roberts has not been signed in time to feature.

In other Celtic transfer news, the Hoops are interested in signing this highly rated 20-year-old.
