Confirmed Arsenal line-up v Burnley: 21-year-old ace misses out

By Harry Sykes

Arsene Wenger has named an unchanged side from the starting XI that thrashed Swansea 4-0 last Saturday at the Liberty Stadium.

Olivier Giroud has recovered from his knock to take his place at the front of the Arsenal attack, and he’s complimented by Alex Iwobi, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.

21-year-old defender Hector Bellerin has recovered from his ankle injury but only makes the bench. Ramsey and Xhaka start in midfield, with Francis Coquelin fit enough to be named as a sub.

The team was announced on the official Arsenal Twitter page ahead of the 2.15pm kick-off in front of the Sky TV cameras.

With all their rivals dropping points yesterday, Arsenal have a great chance of leap-frogging Liverpool and bitter rivals Tottenham, and going into second behind league leaders Chelsea.

Three points would take them within five points of Chelsea, although the league leaders host Hull in the 4.30pm kick-off and will be expected to restore their eight-point lead.

Arsenal have great attacking options on the bench if needed today, with Danny Welbeck, Lucas Perez and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain ready to be called on.

Sean Dyche’s Burnley are perhaps doing better than they expected so far this season. They sit in 12th place, ten points clear of the drop zone.

They don’t have a great record against Arsenal though. They haven’t beaten them in the league since 1974 and have lost their last five encounters, including a 1-0 loss earlier in the season.

In other Arsenal team news, Thierry Henry has weighed in on the contract stand-off with Mesut Ozil.
