Conte 'will walk away' from Tottenham after Levy's 'broken promise' - Kenny

Antonio Conte will walk away from Tottenham if he isn’t backed in the transfer market this month.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ lack of transfers.

Speaking on Tuesday (12 January), Conte admitted any incoming and outgoings this month are in the hands of the club and that he has made his feelings clear on where improvements can be made.

On Monday, Tottenham Insider John Wenham told this site it is “beyond concerning” that Spurs are yet to sign a new player this month.

Kenny insists Conte won’t be at Tottenham if Daniel Levy can’t get any signings over the line.

“Conte only came to Tottenham because he was told he would have money to spend,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“He wants to build a squad, that’s the reason he has come.

“I’m sure if Conte finds it hard to get signings in and he isn’t given that money, he won’t be there on 1st February, he’s gone.

“I’m telling you right now, if Levy doesn’t back him, if he breaks that promise, Conte will walk away.

“Even before Conte, you have to look at why Tottenham kept chopping and changing managers.

“They were never happy with Levy. Tottenham have a few big games coming up now.

“It will be interesting to see what Conte’s reaction is if these players don’t arrive.”

Tottenham are next in action against Arsenal on Sunday (16 January).

They then face a midweek trip to Leicester on Wednesday (19 January).

In other news, an insider has shared the chances of Tottenham signing Coutinho this summer with a fee ‘already agreed’.
