Dan Ndoye: The stats behind Nottingham Forest star’s superb Switzerland display vs Germany
Dan Ndoye scored away from Nottingham Forest as Switzerland were narrowly beaten by Germany in Basel on Friday.
The friendly finished 4-3, with Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz stealing the show with two brilliant goals in the second half.
Ndoye opened the scoring for Switzerland in the opening 20 minutes, but saw his goal cancelled out by Jonathan Tah’s header just nine minutes later.
The winger has struggled to find his feet in the Premier League since completing his £34million summer move from Bologna, netting just twice across all competitions.
But Friday’s performance showed that Ndoye may still have a part to play in boosting Nottingham Forest’s survival chances over the next couple of months.

Ndoye has been slammed by Nottingham Forest fans on several occasions this season, often failing to produce the type of displays that were expected him.
On Friday, however, fans were given a taste of what the 25-year-old could still be able to do before the season is over.

The winger was midway into the German half when he was found by Granit Xhaka in the first half, and he still had much to do.
Driving towards the penalty box, Angelo Stiller elected to invite Ndoye forward – a critical mistake he would come to regret.
In an instant, the Nottingham Forest man stepped past the Stuttgart midfielder before smashing the ball past Oliver Baumann, who was left with no chance.
But his goal was not Ndoye’s only highlight. The forward attempted five dribbles and kept up with his defensive work, winning two tackles and making a staggering seven recoveries.
It was the type of performance that Nottingham Forest fans have been crying out for since the day the 25-year-old arrived at the City Ground.
Ndoye can still come good for Nottingham Forest
Ndoye’s first and only Premier League goal came on the opening day when Nottingham Forest beat Brentford.
His first and only assist came in the week after, as his team drew 1-1 away at Crystal Palace.
Problems on and off the pitch have interrupted his development in the months since, with an injury issue keeping him out for a few weeks in December, and the stream of manager changes not helping the situation.
Friday’s display is proof of Ndoye’s ability to perform, however. Nottingham Forest will not be ready to give up on the 25-year-old yet, with stability sure to provoke results.
