Dean Huijsen sends ‘important’ message to Bournemouth fans after Newcastle

Bournemouth sensation Dean Huijsen has taken to social media to celebrate a “great” 4-1 Premier League win over Newcastle on Saturday (January 18).

The 19-year-old played the full 90 minutes, ending his game having won 100 per cent of his tackles, made three interceptions, and seven recoveries.

Justin Kluivert opened the scoring for the visitors after just six minutes, finishing off a lovely move from Antoine Semenyo with a cool finish past Martin Dubravka.

Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes made it 1-1 with Newcastle’s first attempt on goal in the 25th minute, rising above the Bournemouth defenders to head home from a corner.

Kluivert got his second just before the break and rounded off his hattrick in added time with a long-range effort that left Dubravka with no chance.

Milos Kerkez then got in on the action, making it 4-1 and securing a valuable three points for Andoni Iraola’s side in the race for the top four.

Dean Huijsen wise beyond his years as Bournemouth march towards the top four

Huijsen has established himself as a key player at Bournemouth, starting 13 of his 18 games across all competitions, popping up with two goals, and providing zero assists in his 1240 minutes of action.

The young defender took to Instagram after the win over Newcastle to say: “It was important to win and we did it in the best way, great team performance today! Thanks for the support cherries.”

The win over Newcastle takes Bournemouth within just one point of Eddie Howe’s side in fourth and level with Chelsea in fifth with 37.

Iraola’s side will host fellow high-flyers Nottingham Forest in their next Premier League game on Saturday (January 25).
