Morgan Schneiderlin was ripped apart by Everton fans on social media for his first-half display, although Everton pegged Southampton back to go in 1-1 at the break.
The former French international took the brunt of fans’ frustrations with one fan calling for the player to be sold.
The 28-year-old got a surprise start, at least to the fans, and David Unsworth’s decision did not look like the right one after the first 45 minutes of the game.
The former Manchester United midfielder gave the ball away a lot and didn’t contribute much to Everton – even though they weren’t even really in the game and were lucky to go in level.
Here are the best reactions to the midfielder’s first-half performance against Southampton:
In addition, Schneiderlin is a disgrace.

Schneiderlin’s mum told him not to get mud on his kit?

Schneiderlin should be sold. Baningime and Davies should be given more minutes and Dowell as well when he comes back from his loan.

6 times in 11 mins Schneiderlin and Gana have lost runners from midfield. They just don’t sense danger. #efc

I like Schneiderlin’s plan to frustrate the Southampton boo boys by not actually touching the ball. #efc

However, Schneiderlin isn’t the only one upsetting Everton fans – they’re generally unhappy with the current turmoil at the club.
The Toffees are 16th in the Premier League with only 12 points from 12 games, and were eliminated from the Europa League with games to spare.
The club is also without a manager having sacked Ronald Koeman over a month ago on October 23, with Unsworth being in temporary charge for six games so far.
The caretaker manager has only won one of his six games, a victory over Watford, and fans are questioning his decision, such as playing Schneiderlin against Southampton.
In other Everton news, Robbie Savage believes that this is the manager that the Toffees must get.
