Dominic Solanke to welcome Andy Robertson signing with open arms at Tottenham Hotspur
Andy Robertson is likely to bring some much-needed characteristics to the Tottenham Hotspur squad ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
While no deal has yet been announced by the club, it is understood that the Scotland international is set to join Spurs on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract at Anfield.
It was far from a simple deal, with Robertson only open to joining the Lilywhites if they were to be playing Premier League football next season, but their league status has now been confirmed.
Tottenham’s transfer chiefs are trying to get some early deals done this summer, with the window not even open yet, but Roberto De Zerbi’s star striker will be waiting patiently for his arrival.

It has been a difficult campaign for Dominic Solanke, not helped in the slightest by his long list of long-term injury setbacks. If he can stay fit, he might have the best partner in crime next term.
The 28-year-old only scored six goals all season, but when the service was there for him, it was pretty clear that he hadn’t lost his goalscoring touch, especially evident against Manchester City.
Although Robertson’s days of hitting double-digit assists appear to be behind him, having not done so since the 2022-23 campaign, the Scot could be given a new lease of life by De Zerbi.

During Scotland’s friendly, or not-so-friendly, game against Curacao on Saturday, 30 May, the Liverpool veteran was unfortunate not to get in on the action, creating plenty of dangerous situations.
The 32-year-old clearly hasn’t lost his touch.
What does this mean for Destiny Udogie?
Many supporters will be expecting Robertson to start most games once he arrives in North London.
Arne Slot certainly underutilised the left-back, only starting him in 11 Premier League games in 2025-26, but his signing does raise questions over players in De Zerbi’s current squad.
The manager has been very honest about how many players he plans to use next term, and that could spell bad news for Destiny Udogie, who has fallen down the pecking order at Hotspur Way.
Mick Brown told Football Insider in March that Man City were eyeing up Udogie, but since then, he has been a huge disappointment at full-back, and Robertson will be the perfect replacement next season.
