Scottish Premiership newcomers Livingston have completed the loan signing of Rangers attacker Ryan Hardie.
The 21-year-old spent the second-half of last season on loan at the Lions, and helped them reach promotion to the Scottish Premiership with eight goals in 15 games.
The loan deal, which lasts for the entire season, was recently announced on the official Livingston website.
Hardie, who is a very highly-rated prospect at Ibrox, recently signed a one year contract extension at Ibrox, which now runs until 2019.
Football Insider verdict
Ryan Hardie’s return to Livingston is not a surprise, as they were desperate to have one of the players which got them promoted back to the club. Rangers fans will be more interested in how this affect’s the 21-year-old’s career at Ibrox though, and it could be win-win for the player and the club. It is unlikely that Hardie was going to feature much at Ibrox this season, so Steven Gerrard will now be able to judge the player when he comes up against top flight opposition each week. If Hardie excels for Livingston, then he will have proved that he has what it takes to make it in the Scottish Premiership, and it would be no shock if he ended up signing a new deal with the Gers. Hardie will want regular game time and Livingston seems the ideal venue for him, and it is now up to the player to prove that he can make the step up in quality to the Scottish Premiership.
