Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has agreed a loan move with Premier League rivals Burnley, according to a report.
The BBC report that the 22-year-old will spend the rest of the season at Tottenham’s Premier League rivals – currently in seventh place, just two spots behind Spurs.
The move to Burnley came out of the blue and will surprise Tottenham fans, although game time in the Premier League will give manager Mauricio Pochettino a good chance to judge whether he is to be a part of the future at Tottenham.
The Tottenham winger, who joined from Marseilles in the summer of 2016 for £10m, has had a stuttering start to his Spurs career.
The speed machine has made six appearances for Spurs this season, with just one start.
And some fans are bemused by the fact he hasn’t been given a chance at Spurs.
Others are worried that Pochettino is letting N’Koudou go out on loan without having a replacement for him, pointing to Tottenham’s small squad.
One fan went even further, calling for the head of Levy for depleting the Tottenham squad and trying to run things on a shoestring budget.
Here are some of the best tweets from Tottenham fans after the reported news of N’Koudou’s deal broke:
Nkoudou to Burnley then. Hopefully this puts an end to signing cheap wingers from France with no reputation. #thfc

With N’Koudou going out on loan, we must be bringing someone in or promoting a youth player, right? Surely. Small squad as it is.

Why did we buy Georges Kevin N’Koudou? Just an absolute mystery.

Nice to see that with the January window open Levy has seen this as an ideal opportunity not to strengthen to help us push to get back into the top 4 but indeed to save some money and deplete our squad further (Nkoudou) good luck Poch, doing it on a shoe string #thfc #LevyOut

Instead of dumping the Proven Failures Jannsen, Sissoko & Llorente
They get rid of Nkoudou who hasn't had a chance to prove himself
Levy & Poch don't know what they're doing.

Just watch Nkoudou go and grab 5 goals and 8 assists for Burnley through the second half of this season, just so Spursy it has to happen

Watch N’koudou kill it at Burnley

However, not all Tottenham fans feel the same way, with one asking why people think they need to replace N’Koudou when he wasn’t playing anyway?
Spurs fans melting down at NKoudou going on loan as we have no replacement. Does he need replacing if he hasn’t been playing anyway? Extra spot on the bench to fill? Come on guys…

In other Tottenham transfer news, Pochettino is eyeing a move that would bring two Barcelona stars to Wembley on loan deals.
