Eddie Howe could leave Newcastle United after ‘huge’ twist – fans react
Newcastle United fans think Eddie Howe could be edging closer to the sack after Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi left the club.
Howe was appointed as Newcastle boss after the takeover of PiF, backed by Stavely and Ghodoussi who played a key part in the appointment.
With the two key figures now having left St James’ Park, fans think the boss could be subject to increased scrutiny from the owners, calling for them to be “ruthless”.
Last season, the Magpies missed out on European football after finishing seventh, despite lofty ambitions of another season in the Champions League.
It has been suggested that another disappointing season, or simply a dip in form, could see Howe axed from his position.

Up until now, the boss has looked secure in his job, but with expectations continuing to rise and the owners continuing to invest, their patience may be tested.
Fans insisted that support for Howe could fade should the team hit a tough patch of form, where he had previously been backed by Staveley and Ghodoussi.
It was also suggested Howe could leave of his own accord to become the next England manager, should Gareth Southgate leave after Euro 2024.
