Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s agent and father have both flown to London to help finalise the deal to bring the Gabon international to Arsenal, according to a report.
Bild report that the Borrusia Dortmund striker’s father has flown in to London to force through a deal, reported to be worth £53million.
Aubameyang has fallen out of love with the German giants, after being suspended by Dortmund for a third internal disciplnary action within 12 months.
Any deal that brings Aubameyang to Arsenal, who has scored 21 goals this season alone, would see him replace wantaway Alexis Sanchez, ahead of his proposed move to Manchester United.
Football Insider verdict:
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joining Arsenal would be a statement of intent from Arsene Wenger, whose Gunners legacy is crumbling around him. It will be interesting to see how the aging manager handles the distractions that come part and parcel with the Gabon international, who has been suspended by his current club. The goal threat that Aubameyang brings is much needed by Arsenal, who have been incredibly incompetent in front of goal. This transfer is likely to depend on the outgoing of Sanchez, as they would need to free up some of his demanding wage slip.
In other Arsenal transfer news, it has been reported that a swap deal with Manchester United has stalled because of the wage demands involved.
