26-year-old Tottenham star may force move to Spanish giants this summer - report
Christian Eriksen could force a move from Tottenham to Barcelona this summer, according to a report.
Don Balon has claimed that Barcelona are keen to get their main deals done before the end of the summer window, and that Antoine Griezmann is their number one target.
However, the report claims that if he decides to stay at Atletico, the Spanish giants will turn their attention to Tottenham star Eriksen.
They claim that he would “love” a move to Barcelona and that if they came calling for him, he would force Tottenham to let him go.
Football Insider verdict:
Tottenham fans got some great news this week as Mauricio Pochettino reportedly rejected the advances of Real Madrid shortly after signing a new long-term contract in north London. Now they’ve just got to hope that they can hold onto all their big stars and add a couple more, so they can finally mount a strong challenge for the Premier League title. If this report is true then Spurs fans will have to hope that Griezmann decides to move to Barcelona on the back of the World Cup finals. Real Madrid might have come knocking at the wrong time for Pochettino, but it looks like this summer could be the right time for Eriksen to make his dream move and that would be a huge loss for Spurs. Eriksen was probably their most consistent player last season and impressed everyone despite being the sort of player that flies a little under the radar, compared to Harry Kane. Eriksen is contracted until 2020 and would command an eye-watering fee, but if Tottenham do persuade him to stay, they might want to snap him up with a lucrative contract extension.
