Christian Eriksen has given Tottenham fans a boost by hinting that he will sign a new contract with the club.
The Mirror claimed that the club has earmarked him and Heung-Min Son for contract extensions.
This comes after The Times claimed that Toby Alderweireld, who is currently on £55k-a-week, has rejected a new contract offered to him.
Better news for Spurs fans came from Christian Eriksen, who was asked about his stance on the proposed contract extension by Danish broadcaster TV3 Sport after the 4-0 win against Everton at Wembley on Saturday.
“I am happy to be at the club and have nothing negative to say about it [Tottenham] at all,” said Eriksen, as quoted by Football London.
Tottenham fans will be hoping that this converts into a signature soon, as they start to get nervy following the Alderweireld news.
It’s accepted by most pundits that Tottenham are currently paying under-the-odds for their top stars, with the Times stating that Harry Kane is on just £100k-a-week.
A new contract for Eriksen would be a real boost and could persuade other players to sign on the dotted line too.
In other Tottenham transfer news, it has been reported that Spurs have ended their interest in Bordeaux’s electrifying forward.
