ESPN journo: Pochettino set to make big Tottenham mistake in FA Cup semi v Man United
ESPN and Tottenham journalist Ben Pearce says that Mauricio Pochettino is set to axe Toby Alderweireld for the FA Cup semi-final against Man United.
He thinks that Davinson Sanchez will get the nod and that this would be a mistake.
He goes on to say that while Alderweireld appears to be leaving, he’s available for today’s game and you should play the best players when you’ve got them.
#thfc Obviously Poch knows his players far better than me. But from what I've seen, Alderweireld looked good at Brighton & Sanchez can make costly mistakes. Alderweireld also knows Lukaku, has trained against him. You can't keep everyone forever. Pick the best ones you've got now

Pearce claims that Sanchez is capable of mistakes and that Alderweireld knows Lukaku and has trained against him.
Football Insider verdict:
We’ve got to agree with this assessment and we think that it’s one of Pochettino’s only weaknesses. Alderweireld hasn’t fallen out with the Tottenham players, he’s not an outcast or a pariah. He came in against Brighton and looked sharp, and the fans love him. Tottenham are two games away from their first trophy in the Pochettino era – that’s huge, and surely Pochettino must pick the best team, irrespective of backstage politics? Time will tell and Alderweireld might well play, but our guess is that Sanchez will get the nod after being rested for the Brighton game. If he makes a big mistake, will the fans start murmuring?
