Euro giants ready to blow rivals out the water for PL wizard linked with Tottenham - reports
By Matt Bullin
French giants Marseille are interested in signing Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez, according to a report.
The Mirror reports that the 26-year-old wants to leave the Foxes this summer and has Champions League football in his sights.
However, solid interest has yet to materialise from clubs at that level, and the ambitious Marseille are ready to make a summer swoop for the 30-time Algeria international – rated at £30million+ by his club – ironically in a bid to get back into the Champions League.
One team with Champions League football that have been linked are Tottenham.
The Telegraph reported Spurs are likely to reignite their interest in the Algerian after having a January bid rejected.

Arsenal are also understood to be interested, but Marseille, backed by new owner Frank McCourt, will look to offset Mahrez’s ambition of playing in the Champions League, and blow rivals out the water, with a massive contract.
With money to rebuild the squad available, after businessman Frank McCourt bought the club last summer, Marseille are ready for a busy summer, after signing West Ham’s Dimitri Payet in January.
Mahrez has 10 goals and seven assists in his 44 appearances in all competitions for Leicester this term.
Football Insider verdict
Marseille are rebuilding their squad and have very deep pockets to do it. If there was a bidding war we have no doubt that Daniel Levy would allow the French outfit to take him. However this would not be too much of a loss for Tottenham – they might not have a player quite like Mahrez, but the squad is already brimming with talent and, perhaps more importantly, goals. Perhaps it would even be a boost for Spurs with Marseille entering the race as it means their north London rivals Arsenal will be less likely to sign him.
