'Embarrassment' - Everton fans go ballistic at Allardyce after Newcastle and West Ham claim
Everton fans have gone ballistic at manager Sam Allardyce on social media after he claimed the club’s expectations were no different to those at either Newcastle United or West Ham.
The former England boss, who was in charge of both the Magpies and the Hammers, arrived at Goodison Park to take over from Ronald Koeman, who despite a summer of big spending saw his slide slip into a relegation battle early on in the campaign.
Since taking over from the Dutch boss, Allardyce has managed to guide the Toffees to ninth in the table, but still finds his men closer to the bottom three than sixth placed Arsenal in terms of points.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash against Burnley, a match which he knows will put Everton level on points with the Clarets if they can secure victory, Allardyce was quoted by the Guardian’s Andy Hunter as comparing his former clubs to the Blues, and claiming that all three had the same expectations despite their history.
Allardyce says the expectation at Everton: "is the same as Newcastle and the same as West Ham. Everton have won a lot more in the past but the expectation is as big as at West Ham and Newcastle."

Being compared to two clubs battling for survival this season had the Everton faithful out in hoards on Twitter, lambasting their manager and insisting he did not understand what it meant to be part of the Toffees.

Sam Allardyce says the expectation levels at Everton are the same as at Newcastle and West Ham. Two clubs who have never won a raffle. This speaks to just how wrong this man is to even be associated with the club. Get rid now. #EFC

Genuinely one of the worst managers we’ve had. Not once has there been a connection with the fans. He doesn’t understand the club or get it at all. Happy days when he is kicked out of our club

Allardyce says the expectation at Everton: "is the same as Newcastle and the same as West Ham. Everton have won a lot more in the past but the expectation is as big as at West Ham and Newcastle." @everton for that statement alone he needs to go!! #EFC #allardyceout

Allardyce saying that the expectation at Everton is the same as Newcastle and West Ham proves:
1) he’s so far detached from Everton fans its unbelievable
2) he’s not cut out for the job considering he failed at Newcastle and West Ham

Allardyce: 'Everton have won a lot more in the past but expectation is as big as at west ham or newcastle'
Enough is enough, he does not understand this club at all, he genuinely thinks this is his average run of the mill relegation job
He is wrong
This is EVERTON

Allardyce is an embarrassment, claiming he is surprised by speculation then compares us to West Ham/Newcastle.
Also farcically claims we’re in a “very good” position.
He doesn’t understand who #efc are, and what it takes.

Newcastle currently sit 15th in the Premier League table, five points off Allardyce and his men, while West Ham are four points adrift in 13th.
