Everton may have identified Anthony Gordon replacement after source’s transfer reveal – Robinson

Paul Robinson has named Wolves forward Daniel Podence as a potential replacement for Anthony Gordon at Everton.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one believes Podence, 27, would be “a really good option” for Frank Lampard’s side, especially if Wolves are relegated.

Sources told this site on 26 October that the Toffees are interested in signing Podence next year.

It is understood that the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, will look to find his client a new club over the coming months.

The Portuguese winger’s contract at Molineux runs until the end of June 2024.

Frank Lampard has a wealth a wide options to choose from at Goodison Park, including Demarai Gray, Dwight McNeil, Andros Townsend and Anthony Gordon.

Gordon was heavily linked with a move away from Merseyside in the summer.

Robinson suggested Gordon could be replaced by Podence next year.

“Listen, if Anthony Gordon was to go for big money then go and get Podence in,” he told Football Insider.

“He would be a really good option.

“Wolves are really struggling at the moment. They are serious relegation candidates. There could be a few rich pickings if Wolves go down and Podence could be one of them.

“I think there would be a few clubs interested if that was to be the case.”

Everton

Podence has been a regular starter for Wolves this season.

He has scored twice in 13 Premier League appearances.
