Everton are set to sell Yannick Bolasie at a £20million-plus loss this summer after telling him he can find a new club, Football Insider understands.
The winger arrived in the first summer following Farhad Moshiri’s arrival after the Toffees paid £25million rising to a potential £30million to Crystal Palace.
Bolasie’s spell at Goodison Park has been wrecked by injury and poor form and he has spent this season on loan at, first, Aston Villa in the Championship and, then, Belgian club Anderlecht.
A source close to Everton has told Football Insider that Marco Silva will have to make up much of his summer transfer kitty through player sales and he has made up his mind to offload Bolasie.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo international has two years left on his contract but turns 30 later this month and Everton will listen to offers at around the £5million mark.
Bolasie has shown glimpses this season of returning to the form he once showed at Palace, scoring seven goals and supplying eight assists in 37 matches for his two loan clubs.
His Everton record is underwhelming for such an expensive forward, with 32 appearances yielding two goals and four assists.
The Merseysiders are also in the market for a new striker who can provide competition for the young Englishman and, as revealed by Football Insider, the club have shortlisted Chelsea ace Tammy Abraham, who is thriving on loan at Aston Villa, and another prolific scorer in this season’s Championship.
In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that the club are close to securing their first summer signing as a medical is scheduled.
