Ex-keeper claims Arsenal making Ramsdale blunder after medical reveal
Paul Robinson has claimed Arsenal are making a mistake signing Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United.
The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 23-year-old is “lucky” to be getting another Premier League move.
As revealed by Football Insider (August 19th), Ramsdale is undergoing a medical after Arsenal had a £30million bid accepted.
The Gunners have pursued the shot-stopper all summer after making him their top target to rival Bernd Leno.
However, Robinson was less than impressed with the keeper’s performances at Bournemouth and Sheffield United.
“He has been relegated twice now,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“His form at the end of last season was probably what got him into the England squad – with the help of a few injuries.
“I think he conceded too many goals at Bournemouth and made too many mistakes, and the same again at Sheffield United.
“I haven’t seen enough from him yet.
“I know he comes highly rated, but my personal opinion is that he would be lucky to get another move back to the Premier League – especially at a huge club like Arsenal.”
Ramsdale was part of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad at Euro 2020, benefiting from injuries to Nick Pope and Dean Henderson.
The shot-stopper claimed Sheffield United’s player of the season award last term after relegation from the top flight.
The former Bournemouth man, capped 15 times for England Under-21s, played all 38 games for the Blades last season.
