Ex-manager: Aston Villa are fielding 'one of biggest bids we've ever seen' for Grealish
Alex McLeish expects Man City will table “one of the biggest bids we’ve ever seen” for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish.
The former Villa boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Villans would demand £100million-plus if the 25-year-old is to leave this summer.
As revealed by Football Insider on Monday (July 12th), Manchester City are readying a £90million bid for the playmaker following the end of the European Championships.
A recruitment source has told this site City are prepared to break the British transfer record (£89.5million) held by Manchester United for Paul Pogba.
It is understood Pep Guardiola’s men have spent months laying the groundwork for a deal to sign Grealish.
McLeish admitted it would be no surprise if the Villa ace did go for a record fee.

However, he did not rule out Grealish staying at Villa Park – if his ambitions can be matched.
“He’s definitely a wanted man, absolutely,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“Aston Villa, his team, also want him, they don’t want to let them go. The price is going to have to be extremely high and maybe higher than we’ve ever seen.
“Jack is of a very high level. You can see he is improving all the time and he will surely become even better with more experience. Getting gigs in the Champions League, England will benefit as well.
“I definitely see City coming in with one of the biggest bids we’ve ever seen. It’ll be no surprise because back in the day Trevor Francis was £1million, everybody got frightened by that.
“Ever since then it’s gone up and up. It won’t be a surprise if Grealish moves for £100million.
“He’s got a great affiliation with Villa. If he feels Villa are like a top-four club as well then that’s got to be motivation to stay.”
