'He's Very, very good' - Exclusive: Bruce reacts as West Ham plot move for 22 goal/assist ace
Alex Bruce insists that West Ham would be getting their hands on a “very, very good player” if they were to sign West Brom loanee Matheus Pereira.
The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has been left raving over the Brazilian winger’s performances in the Championship this season.
As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, the Irons have set their sights on a potential deal for the 23-year-old after his impressive form at the Hawthorns.
Bruce insists West Ham need to strengthen this summer after a disappointing season and believes Pereira would be a welcome addition in east London.
Bruce told Football Insider: “He’s a very good player and he’s done very well. He carries all the threat you want from a player.
“It wouldn’t surprise me, I can understand why clubs are looking at him. I’ve seen him a couple of times this season, he’s a very, very good player. It will be interesting to see how that one pans out.

“West Ham need to strengthen in certain areas, they need to do something because they’ve flirted with relegation now for a number of years.”
Pereira has been a constant attacking threat for Slaven Bilic this season, scoring six goals and chipping in with 16 assists.
The Baggies sit second in the Championship table, six points ahead of third-placed Fulham, while West Ham are only out of the Premier League relegation zone on goal difference.
