Paul Robinson is convinced that Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos will not be tempted by a move to the Premier League this month because he is “part of something special” any Ibrox.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-England goalkeeper claimed that the Gers had nothing to worry about with regards to losing their star man over the coming days.
As revealed by Football Insider, the Colombian international has emerged as a target for Tottenham Hotspur as they seek a replacement for the injured Harry Kane.
But Robinson is convinced that the prospect of winning a Scottish Premiership title with the Gers will be enough to ensure El Bufalo stays in Glasgow.
When asked if the 23-year-old could be tempted by the prospect of moving south of the border, Robinson told Football Insider: “No, at Rangers I think he’s part of something special, part of something exciting.
“If he keeps scoring the goals and he wants to go to the Premier League [at a later date], a move will never not be there for a player who is scoring goals and playing well.”
Morelos has hit 28 goals for the Gers already this season, at a rate of one strike every 84 minutes.
Steven Gerrard’s men are currently two points behind bitter rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table, but crucially hold a game in hand over the Hoops.
In other Rangers news, Inter Milan are preparing a blockbuster deal for one Ibrox star this month.
