Noel Whelan has slammed the “cringeworthy” conduct of Bailey Peacock-Farrell and claimed Leeds United may now be looking for two new goalkeepers this summer.

Peacock-Farrell revealed while on international duty with Northern Ireland earlier this month that he may quit Elland Road this summer if he is not assured on regular first-team football next season.

The future of January signing and current number one Kiko Casilla is also in doubt, with Football Insider revealing  the 32-year-old has been shortlisted as a target this window by three La Liga clubs, and Leeds are ready to cash in on him as long as they make a profit.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, ex-Leeds striker Whelan tore into the United academy product, 22, for threatening the club.

“It looks like we’ve got two unhappy goalkeepers,” he said. “Casilla is unsettled and Peacock-Farrell is moaning in the background. We could need two new keepers if things continue like this.

“Peacock-Farrell should be behaving far more respectfully to the club, the fans, Marcelo Bielsa and his teammates. It was a little bit cringeworthy to be threatening to leave his club whole on international duty. His agent needs a bit of a slap if he told him to do that.

“Come on, behave with a bit of class. Coming out and speaking like that was not the right thing to do and not the way you should be going about it.

“I understand he is playing regularly for Northern Ireland, but you can’t guarantee anybody to play every match. Come back in pre-season, show the right attitude and convince the manager with what you do on the training ground. Don’t go spouting off in the media.”

Peacock-Farrell was the Leeds first choice for the first two-thirds of last season after getting the nod in pre-season ahead of Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman before his subsequent season-ending broken leg.

Casilla was signed from Real Madrid in January on a four-year contract and immediately displaced Peacock Farrell, holding on to the number one shirt for the remainder of the campaign.

In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that Wolves have asked for another key Whites player in part-exchange for Helder Costa.
