Supporters of both Celtic and Oldham have taken to social media to give their opinion on the potential loan deal for young attacker Kundai Benyu this month.
As exclusively revealed by Football Insider on Tuesday night, the Scottish champions are in advanced talks with the English League One side in attempt to offload the 20-year-old on a temporary basis in order for him to get some regular first team football.
The player who was signed from Ipswich on a free transfer in the summer has only started one league for the Hoops, the 2-0 win over Kilmarnock in August, and has fallen out of the first-team picture completely.
Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter to the news that the youngster is set to move to Oldham:
@Callumsmh is Kundai Benyu any good?

Just seen we've been linked with a loan move for Kundai Benyu from Celtic.
Highly rated at Celtic. Just cant get a look in. Seen him play a few times. Always impressed. Good feet and has potential to rip it up at this level. Get him in @RichieWe11ens

I can confirm Kundai Benyu is a number 10 and a bloody excellent one at that

Was very good for Aldershot whenever i’ve watched him

@ClydeSSB Think Benyu should go on loan as he doesn’t seem near the team. If John McGinn comes in someone must leave imo Bitton Or Kouassi. Think Celtic should try to keep Sviatchenko but don’t see that happening

@ClydeSSB January window we should try get Lustic ,Simunovic,Sviatchenko ,Benyu ,out door. Cash in on Dembele. John McGinn should be priority buy along with another good quality central defender

Benyu has understandably found it difficult to break into a squad already packed with attacking players, and that was setting a British record of 69 domestic games without defeat.
The Hoops are currently on their winter break, heading to Dubai on the back of their last league game, the goal less draw with Rangers.
The performance on the day wasn’t the best by the Hoops, but they still avoided defeat and ended the year 11 points clear of their bitter rivals in the Scottish Premiership league table, and eight points clear of second placed Aberdeen.
In other Celtic news, Brendan Rodgers has admitted that Eboue Kouassi may be heading out on loan
