Jason Cummings got his first league start of his Rangers career on Tuesday night but he couldn’t cap it with a goal.
Rangers did get back to winning ways against Partick though, after the disappointing 2-1 loss at Ibrox to Hibs on Saturday.
Two goals, one from Josh Windass in the first half and the second from James Tavernier in the second secured the three points for Graeme Murty’s men and moved them to within three points of Aberdeen in second.
The consensus on Cummings tonight is that he was left isolated as the lone striker, with really poor service.
Fans could see he was working and trying hard but want to see Murty try two strikers, with one imploring him to bring Alfredo Morelos on for the last 20 minutes.
In the end, Murty did bring Morelos on in the 81st minute but he replaced Cummings and the Rangers fans are going to have to wait for another opportunity to see the two strikers link up.
