Newcastle United fans have taken to social media to express their views after a series of reports suggested that defender Grant Hanley had secured a move to Norwich City.
The 25-year-old has been linked with an exit for a majority of the transfer window, and Football Insider exclusively revealed on Tuesday that the Magpies centre-back got his medical underway at Carrow Road after being granted permission to leave St. James’ Park.
As well as the Canaries, a BBC journalist revealed that Hanley had also attracted interest from the likes of Championship side Derby County.
Fans seem somewhat delighted with the reports of the Scotland international’s departure as most of the supporters are keen on the club making a number of new signings before the window closes in just a few days.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

I really hope there are in comings. Still a weak squad. Another few quality signings would be great.

The Magpies have waved goodbye to a host of players this summer, but only three of the club’s departures have brought in a fee which has totalled up to around £15 million.
Selling more of the Tyneside club’s fringe players will raise money for the newly promoted side which will help them inevitably make a number of last minute signings.
So far, boss Rafa Benitez has brought in Jacob Murphy, Florian Lejeune, Christian Atsu, Joselu, and Javier Manquillo on a permanent basis, but the new signings haven’t been able to provide Newcastle with the Premier League return they’d hoped for.
In other Newcastle news, fans have reacted on Twitter after the club announced that an attacker had secured a deal.
