Steven Gerrard wants to make another four signings at Rangers this summer, according to a report.
The Scottish Sun claims that despite bringing in seven new players already, Gerrard hasn’t finished and is intent on bringing another four new faces to Ibrox before the start of the season.
However, he has admitted that he will need to move players on to make that happen.
“I am also aware that if we get the areas sorted out that we feel need sorted it will make the squad too big,” Gerrard said in the the Scottish Sun.
“We will have to edge a few out and be honest with people and say to them that maybe they are not going to get the game time they want.
“That is football at this time of year and all players are aware of that.”
Football Insider verdict:
Talk about an overhaul. Steven Gerrard has been busy but he’s still got plenty left in him by the sounds of it, which is even more exciting news for Rangers fans.Rangers have already brought Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield, Ovie Ejaria, Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and Jon Flanagan, while Jamie Murphy’s loan deal was made permanent. Now they’re looking for another four. Eleven new players would be a whole new team, and while some of the old squad will keep their places, that represents a major change at Ibrox. If neutrals are looking forward to seeing what Gerrard can do with the new-look Rangers next season, imagine what Rangers fans must be feeling. We desperately hope it goes well and that Gerrard and McAllister can gel their new players in time to qualify for the Europa League and make the Premiership competitive. Celtic have had it their own way for too long. Perhaps winning the league is too much to expect, but stopping Celtic doing the triple treble will be the minimum goal.
In other Rangers news, this player could well be the next to make the breakthrough at Ibrox
