Graham Roberts: Tottenham 23-year-old had his best game of the season v Everton

By Harvey Byrne

Former Tottenham defender Graham Roberts singled out Ben Davies for praise on Sunday, claiming he had his best game of the season against Everton.

The 23-year-old left-back played the full 90 minutes at White Hart Lane as the north London club ran out 3-2 victors against the Toffees.

The Welshman didn’t trouble the score sheet as a Harry Kane double alongside a late Dele Alli effort made sure of the three points for Tottenham.

However, many praised Davies for his display and Roberts himself picked out the full-back for an honorary mention on his personal Twitter account after the game.

Davies has started Tottenham’s last four league matches due to current star Danny Rose being out with injury.

The Wales international has often come in for some criticism due to not being Rose, but many will now be hoping the Everton display is a sign of what is to come from Davies.

Spurs’ next match sees them return to FA Cup action against Millwall on Sunday, while their next league game will see them take on Southampton at White Hart Lane.

They will be looking to pick up all three points against the Saints with the hope of closing the gap on fierce rivals Chelsea in first.
