Hudson-Odoi bids farewell in new message after confirmed Nottingham Forest exit

Callum Hudson-Odoi dispatched an emotional goodbye message after Nottingham Forest confirmed a key player exit from the club.

Nottingham Forest are set to compete in Europe next season for the first time in 29 years following a standout campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Whether they play in the Europa League is still uncertain, as Crystal Palace have been demoted to the Conference League due to multi-club ownership rules, though they are expected to appeal the decision.

Meanwhile, Hudson-Odoi was a crucial figure in Forest’s seventh-place Premier League finish, but doubts over his future remain.

Hudson-Odoi has been in contract talks with Forest for several months, but no agreement has yet been reached, as he reaches his final year of his deal.

Now, he has shared an emotional message online after a teammate confirmed their departure from the City Ground.

Anthony Elanga completes record move to Newcastle from Nottingham Forest

It was confirmed on 11 July that Anthony Elanga has officially left Nottingham Forest to join Newcastle on a long-term deal.

Newcastle agreed a £55 million fee for the Swedish international earlier in the week, making him the most expensive player ever to depart the City Ground.

Hudson-Odoi shared a heartfelt farewell message to his former wing partner via his Instagram story, writing: “Good luck my brother, been a pleasure, keep doing your thing and God bless you. Love my guy.”

Elanga played a vital role for Forest last season, contributing six goals and 12 assists in all competitions as the club secured a historic seventh-place finish.

On the opposite flank, Hudson-Odoi chipped in with five goals and three assists, forming a strong attacking partnership with Elanga.

Forest remain hopeful that Hudson-Odoi will commit to a new contract, although no agreement has been finalised despite ongoing negotiations. The club have already secured the futures of Ola Aina, Murillo and Chris Wood, but fans are still awaiting confirmation on the former Chelsea star’s long-term plans.

Nottingham Forest consider legal action over Tottenham’s approach for Gibbs-White

Another key figure whose future has come under the spotlight is Morgan Gibbs-White.

Tottenham were reported to have triggered a secret release clause for Gibbs-White, and talks appeared to be progressing rapidly.

However, fresh reports have revealed that Nottingham Forest believe Spurs made an illegal approach, having failed to contact the club before speaking to the player.

As a result, the proposed move has been put on hold. Forest are now considering legal action over the approach and have ceased all communication with Tottenham for the time being.
