Hudson-Odoi reacts to Nottingham Forest teammate’s message shortly before Nuno Espirito Santo is sacked
Dan Ndoye and Callum Hudson-Odoi could see their roles changed significantly at Nottingham Forest after the international break.
Nottingham Forest are back in the headlines for the wrong reasons after Evangelos Marinakis made the decision to sack Nuno Espirito Santo early on 9 September following “crisis talks” at the City Ground.
Football Insider then revealed on Tuesday that Ange Postecoglou was set to be announced imminently as Espirito Santo‘s successor, and Forest confirmed the Australian’s appointment a matter of hours later.
Postecoglou’s arrival hasn’t gone down well with Forest fans worried about the huge shift in playing style that is on the cards after Espirito Santo’s departure, with the Reds’ counter-attacking setup expected to undergo wholesale changes.

Dan Ndoye ready for Nottingham Forest return
Stan Collymore has slammed Nottingham Forest’s handling of the managerial situation following Espirito Santo’s dismissal after their seventh-placed finish last season, as Postecoglou prepares to take charge.
Forest have 13 players currently away with their respective nations over the international break and new signing Dan Ndoye is one of these, scoring for Switzerland against Slovenia in a 3-0 win on 8 September.
Ndoye’s 38th-minute strike for the Swiss helped make it two wins from two in their World Cup qualifying campaign, and he posted on Instagram on Tuesday, shortly before Nuno’s sacking, to say: “Another step forward – proud of the team”.
Callum Hudson-Odoi left two ‘fire’ emojis beneath Ndoye’s post, as the two Forest wingers prepare to return to a new-look setup at the City Ground upon their return to training.
Ange Postecoglou to make immediate Nottingham Forest changes
Football Insider Verdict
Ndoye has hit the ground running at Nottingham Forest following his £34.6million move from Bologna over the summer, with a goal on his Premier League debut in a 3-1 opening-weekend win over Brentford.
Hudson-Odoi doesn’t just face competition from Ndoye to keep his place on the flanks for Forest this season, with Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee and Dilane Bakwa all signed later in the transfer window.
Postecoglou is therefore spoilt for choice as he prepares to transform Forest’s counter-attacking style into one of full-fronted pressing in numbers, and it remains to be seen if he retains Ndoye and Hudson-Odoi as his first-choice wingers.
