Hudson-Odoi swipes at ‘joke’ in new Nottingham Forest message

Nottingham Forest took a significant step toward securing Champions League football on Saturday (8 March) as they defeated Man City.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men proved they’re a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League by beating the defending champions 1-0 courtesy of an 83rd-minute goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Ederson was beaten at his near post by the strike from the former Chelsea winger, which has left many City fans calling for him to be replaced moving forward.

From a Forest perspective, the focus will be on the Premier League table and what an impact those three points have made.

Forest now sit four points above City in third place, while they are only three behind second-placed Arsenal after 28 games.

The victory was an impressive one that continued their strong defensive run as only three teams in the division have conceded fewer goals than them, and two of those are above them.

The winger sent Forest fans a message on Instagram and made it clear just how serious they are in the race for the top four, despite being an unlikely team at the start of the campaign.

He said, “WE ARE NOT HERE TO JOKE! GOAL, MOTM, 3 POINTS!! Enjoy your weekend.”

Nottingham Forest are one step closer to European glory

Forest put themselves in a commanding position when it comes to the top four race, which is going to be crucial for them considering how many teams are chasing for those spots.

A defeat against City could have led to them falling out of the top four completely if Chelsea were to win, which is what made the victory even more significant.

Forest will be back in action against Ipswich Town on Saturday (15 March).
