Huge U-turn as Euro boss odds dramatically slashed to be hired by Nottingham Forest

Aitor Karanka’s odds have been dramatically slashed for him to take charge at Nottingham Forest, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
PaddyPower have installed Karanka, 44, as the huge 1/7 favourite to succeed Mark Warburton in the City Ground hotseat in what has been a major U-turn in the odds over the past 24 hours.
Paul Heckingbottom (3/1), Nigel Clough (7/1) and Gus Poyet (15/2) also appear in the frame to be the next Forest manager, but Karanka is clearly the man who the most money is on at this stage.

On Sunday, the former Middlesbrough boss drifted all the way to being 33/1 in the running as Barnsley manager Heckingbottom took pole position.

Before that, the unemployed Spaniard was favourite at 13/8, and now this latest development in the market has capped an astonishing U-turn that suggests the Reds are on the verge of finding Warburton’s replacement not long after hammering Arsenal 4-2 in the FA Cup third round.
European boss Karanka has been out of work since being sacked by Middlesbrough in March.
The former Real Madrid assistant manager is now clearly being touted to replace Warburton, who was dismissed by the Forest board on New Year’s Eve, less than 24 hours after a disappointing loss to Sunderland.
Next up for the Reds is a home meeting with Aston Villa at the City Ground on Saturday when Championship action resumes.
In other Nottingham Forest news, the East Midlands giants are plotting a swoop for this £90,000-a-week international ace from a top-flight league leader.
