Hutton: Grealish may sign new Aston Villa contract on one condition
Alan Hutton has claimed Jack Grealish may sign a new contract with Aston Villa if they can prove they can match his ambitions.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Villa and Scotland right-back insisted the club are not in a position where they need to sell their talismanic captain.
Football Insider first revealed on 9 April that Grealish had told friends he was interested in quitting the club to move to Manchester City.
BBC Sport reported on 25 June the Premier League champions are set to step up their interest in Grealish but Villa want to secure him to a new contract.
The 25-year-old penned a five-year deal last summer amid speculation linking him to Manchester United.
“It just shows you exactly where the club are at the moment,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“We know the owners are very wealthy and they probably don’t need to bring in £100million, whereas other clubs might need to.
“They’re definitely building something. He’s just signed a new deal, obviously a very lucrative deal. So for them to be sitting down again they see the future with him being an integral part of that.
“If they can come up with a deal that suits them and they can come up with a plan that suits him if he thinks that’s up to his level then I’m sure he’ll sign that.”
Grealish scored six goals and provided 12 assists in 26 Premier League games last term.
Villa won three and lost six of the 12 games he missed with a shin injury.
